About us...
The Farrar Family Reunion, Inc. is a non-profit corporation founded by the original ten (O-10) sons and daughters of Joseph Vernon Farrar, Sr. and Viola (Schwend) Farrar. We are directly descended from William and Cecily Farrar, who emigrated from England and settled in Jamestown, Virginia, in 1642.
Facts about the Reunion
The Farrar Family Reunion was founded by Jill (Farrar) Vogel, the "second generation" daughter of Robert (Bob) Farrar, one of the O-10. Jill hosted the first Reunion at her home in Illinois in 1978. The second Reunion was hosted by Jean (Farrar) Hite, another of the O-10, at her home in Texas the following year. For the past 28 years, Bob Farrar has hosted the Reunion on his wooded 160 acre tract in the Ozark mountains of northeastern Arkansas, and the Reunion is currently in the process of purchasing 12 of those acres where the permanent campgrounds were established.
